Believe!

When you feel like facing walls
and they seem too tall to jump over,
walk around them

When you feel like facing a wall
and it seems too long to walk around it
step up and don't be afraid of seeing what is on the other side

If your wall is too tall and too long to even think of any possibility to go beyond it -
find a pleasant spot in your mind or just by the wall
and daydream of what you would really really
like to see on the other side.

If Truman could do it, so can you!

No matter who watches,
no matter how many times you fail -
keep doing it,
keep moving,
despite sadness,
despite madness.

Enjoy the journey!

Everything else
will take care of itself.

Personality

Superman himself acknowledged that the Silver Age Luthor was a man of his word who would honor promises he made. Lex is a man who prefers to follow his own personal code; on occasion, he came to the aid of innocents even when doing so would lead to his capture and inevitable return to prison. Shamed by his criminal acts, Lex's parents, Jules and Arlene, disowned him, moved away and changed their name to the anagram "Thorul". Luthor had a younger blond sister, Lena, an empath who grew up unaware of her familial connection with the noted villain. Protective of his sister, Luthor took measures to hide his fraternity, and had been assisted towards this end by both Superman and Supergirl. Luthor considered Albert Einstein a great personal idol, and would make a special effort to escape prison around the anniversary of Einstein's birthday each year, and visit places of significance in Einstein's life.

I want to be a superhero

While doing a simple exercise on evaluating my (business) service in three areas of benefit, uniqueness, visibility and story I realized my visibility reached lame 2 points (out of 10) in all areas of my business: Adventure, Coaching and Community. No wonder! It was just two months ago, maybe three that I decided to be Violet from the Incredibles, focus on my energy field, increase it as much as I can, huff it, puff it... and be invisible.

The magic of internet and search engines brought me to this website (I just typed superheros) and the following website came out Which Super Hero Are You. Few minutes later I learned

In Wikipedia it says:

Powers and abilities

Main article: Power ring (weapon)

All Green Lanterns wield a power ring that can generate a variety of effects and energy constructs, sustained purely by the ring wearer's strength of will. The greater the user's willpower, the more effective the ring. The limits of the power ring's abilities are not clearly defined and it has been referred to as "the most powerful weapon in the universe" on more than one occasion. Across the years, the ring has been shown capable of accomplishing anything within the imagination of the ring bearer. Often the rings are used to form solid-light constructs, the power and size of which are limited only by the ring-bearer's willpower. Stories in 2006 retconned the ring's longtime lack of effect on yellow objects, stating that the ring-bearer need only feel fear and overcome it in order to affect yellow objects.

Power rings of various wielders have exhibited (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Plasma based constructs limited to the willpower of the bearer.
  • Semi-sentient computers, including Book of Oa reference, from laws to the history of the universe.
  • Flight across the cosmos through wormholes.
  • Time travel
  • Finite power source, but no longer limited to 24 hours. Kyle Rayner's ring was the first ring to absorb more power than originally thought, having stored the main power battery's energy following its explosion on Oa.
  • Universal Translator
  • Force field generation.
  • Radiation simulation, including Kryptonite.
  • Generate "earplugs" to facilitate telepathic communication.[3]
  • Kyle Rayner suggested, during the battle with Alex Nero, that the ring can split atoms.
  • Upon death of the wielder, the ring automatically looks for a replacement.
  • Green Lantern: Rebirth revealed that only a certain type of willpower can use the ring effectively, as evidenced when Green Arrow's "cynical" willpower barely allows him to generate a single arrow and leaves him exhausted after this feat.

A Chinese Story

A long time ago in China , a girl named Li-Li got married & went to live with her husband and mother-in-law. In a very short time, Li-Li found that she couldn't get along with her mother-in-law at all. Their personalities were very different, and Li-Li was angered by many of her mother-in-law's habits. In addition, she criticized Li-Li constantly.

Days passed and weeks passed. Li-Li and her mother-in-law never stopped arguing and fighting. But what made the situation even worse was that, according to ancient Chinese tradition, Li-Li had to bow to her mother-in-law and obey her every wish.

All the anger and unhappiness in the house was causing Li-Li's poor husband great distress. Finally, Li-Li could not stand her mother-in-law's bad temper and dictatorship any longer, and she decided to do something about it. Li-Li went to see her father's good friend, Mr. Huang, who sold herbs.

She told him the situation and asked if he would give her some poison so that she could solve the problem once and for all. Mr. Huang thought for a while, and finally said, "Li-Li, I will help you solve your problem, but you must listen to me and obey what I tell you. "Li-Li said, "Yes, Mr. Huang, I will do whatever you tell me to do." Mr. Huang went into the back room, and returned in a few minutes with a package of herbs. He told Li-Li, "You can't use a
quick-acting poison to get rid of your mother-in-law, because that would cause people to become suspicious. Therefore, I have given you a number of herbs that will slowly build up poison in her body. Every other day prepare some delicious meal and put a little of these herbs in her serving. Now,in order to make sure that nobody suspect you. When she dies, you must be very careful to act very friendly towards her. Don't argue with her, obey her every wish, and treat her like a queen." Li-Li was so happy. She thanked Mr. Huang and hurried home to start her plot of murdering her mother-in-law. Weeks went by and months went by, and every other day,Li-Li served the specially treated food to her mother-in-law. She remembered what Mr. Huang had said about avoiding suspicion, so she controlled her temper, obeyed her mother-in-law, and treated her like her own mother.

After six months had passed, the whole household had changed. Li-Li had practiced controlling her temper so much that she found that she almost never got mad or upset. She hadn't had an argument with her mother-in-law in six months because she now seemed much kinder and easier to get along with. The mother-in-law's attitude toward Li-Li changed, and she began to love Li-Li like her own daughter. She kept telling friends and relatives that Li-Li was the best daughter-in-law one could ever find. Li-Li and her mother-in-law were now treating each other like a real mother and daughter. Li-Li's husband was very happy to see what was happening.

One day, Li-Li came to see Mr. Huang and asked for his help again. She said, "Dear Mr. Huang, please help me to keep the poison from killing my mother-in-law! She's changed into such a nice woman, and I love her like my own mother. I do not want her to die because of the poison I gave her." Mr. Huang smiled and nodded his head. "Li-Li, there's nothing to worry about. I never gave you any poison. The herbs I gave you were vitamins to improve her health. The only poison was in your mind and your attitude toward her, but that has been all washed away by the love which you gave to her."

Parenting

Simba has been breaking his fear past three days. It seems to me he has fear of heights, he's reluctant to jump off bed or climb up steep stairs even. Candy, on the other side, loves to jump and finds no obstacle high enough to conquer. All other areas of their life are directly opposite - Simba is more daring, Candy is withdrawn and shy. They are like Yin and Yang - Candy likes dark places and spends her daytime mostly sleeping under the bed, Simba loves the balcony and enjoys sunbathing, looks forward to any moment that he can be outside. Candy prefers company of humans although she has certain profound taste, Simba loves playing with other dogs, the bigger they are the more fun!

It is pleasure watching these two balancing their living act - day in day out they mingle their energies and express themselves fully. K and I, like worried parents, wonder what we have done 'wrong' to enhance this difference. Eventually we see it as the natural cycle and learn how to adjust our energies.

This is the closest I get to feeling how it is to raise children.

Face Your Fears

For today I recommend Dan Millman's "Everyday Enlightenment" as a practical guide not only for enlightenment but foremost for peaceful living. I enjoy every page of it as he guides me through important steps of personal growth from perspective of 12 gateways:

Discover Your Worth

Reclaim Your Will
Energize Your Body
Manage Your Money
Tame Your Mind
Trust Your Intuition
Accept Your Emotions
Face Your Fears
Illuminate Your Shadow
Embrace Your Sexuality
Awaken Your Heart
Serve Your World

As I was contemplating what to share with you today, the book opened on Zones of Fear under gateway Face Your Fears. Conveniently there is a section that gives instruction for face and head massage that you can do alone or with a partner:

Work gently and slowly along all bone surfaces, pressing deeper where tolerable and softer where more sensitive. Smooth forehead from middle to sides. Press your forefinger between the brows and smooth along the bony ridges. Massage temples, cheekbones, around nose, lips, and chin. Work deeply under the jawbones. Massage external ear, twisting and turning. Vigorously rub scalp.

This intensive body work is designed to clear away the residual tensions associated with past and current fears. It does not make fear go away, only the tension that accompanies it. By eliminating the tension, you'll learn to keep your body relaxed and your mind flexible, so that you can act effectively decisively, and courageously in the face of fear.

Fear of Misunderstanding:
Ears, neck area, and mastoid bone

Worries and Wondering:
Forehead from eyebrows to hairline

Anger:
Eyebrow ridges and space between eyebrows

Prejudices and Judgments:

Eye socket ridges and muscle attachments

Shame:

Cheekbones

Fear of External Control:
Nose

Fear of Being Disappointed:
Lines from base of nose to the mouth

Fear of Being Disgusted:

Mouth, lips, and muscles around the mouth

Fear of Inferiority:

Chin

Fear of Revulsion (sights, smells, circumstances):
Jawbone

Wheels

These wheels in Tibet are polished by pilgrims' hands who spin them in hopes for their prayers to be answered. There are rows and rows of them, stretching around the temples, in street corners.

I am not sure why I chose this photo today. Maybe it reminds me of the times when I went to Tibet, maybe because one client today contemplated Buddhism instead of Catholicism which triggered talks about religion, maybe because I secretly wished my prayers were answered.

In any case, once upon a time I spun praying wheels in Tibet. The moment was magical.

Out of sight

It was coming in waves - I first heard some people couldn't view their blogs and then panic spread on Wednesday: massive virus attack for whoever was online that day (luckily I have Mac & remained protected). On Thursday I couldn't view my blog anymore. This is no surprise, it happens every year, once or twice, like clearing the closet, getting rid of old clothes.

Good news is that I can access blog, I can edit, I can view my posts. For the time being it is other bloggers that I can't reach. Once again China closes its walls.

Conversations With Turkey

It came into my dream
just like that
solemnly standing and waiting
for a whistle
and intriguing response

I give it back
remembering time
when I visited home
Beautiful places
engraved in my memory

Summer on the fields
herding sheep or
observing lady birds
will it fly away?
where will it go?
my mom says
it means guests will come

And then she also showed me a trick:
she whistled and turkey responded
with its funny call.
And no matter how many times
the whistle would blow
turkey was ready
to give away its perspective
I tought at a time
it was the most amazing wonder of the nature

Where the Hell is Matt

When I saw the title of this email I started recaping how many Matt-guys I know and which one was missing. Truth is, I haven't seen neither one of three I know for a while. I clicked on the link regardless and after watching this amazing video I wished I knew this one. Truly inspiring - check it out on YouTube and his webiste (for outtakes that didn't make it for the final cut)

Chapter 36

If you want a thing to contract,
You should stretch it first;
If you want a thing weakened,
You should strengthen it first;
If you want a thing gotten rid of,
You should promote it first;
If you want a thing taken away,
You should give to it first.

Ren (third tone) - to endure; tolerate; put up with

How simple and obvious is it that this character consists of two: knife on the top and heart at the bottom. Literally - to stab one's heart. The way I learnt about it today: pain is inevitable when you put up with something, somebody. After a while pain transforms into learning, awareness and expansion. Only by not tolerating pain endures and cuts heart bit by bit.

Tolerate others like you would tolerate a child

Mysterious shades

I like looking up
and checking the skies
just to make sure it is still there
attached to sun, moon and stars

It surprises me
with different perspectives
revealing its beauty and grandeur
solemnly retrieving into the night

Where sister moon
shyly displays her evening gowns
In matter of minutes
it takes my breath away

Prayer and Politics

I don't like politics. I actually haven't watched more than 5 hours of any kind of news since 1999. News remind me of shopping in China - you never know if you got the fair price. If you like bargaining then it is a heaven but if you like to shop quickly and easily - it is a nightmare that often ends with a question - have I been cheated?

In past few days my email and sms have been buzzing: Serbia won Eurovision song contest! I have to admit I was really happy to hear that and thought - finally there is some good for Serbia to be noticed for. No more war, no more crimes - it is a song and apparently well done. After all, people voted for it. So I googled Molitva (Prayer - name of the song) and Eurovision and checked YouTube to hear (see) the song. I thought it was nice, the energy was apparent and Marija was herself, natural and powerful.

And then surprise: another video on YouTube states that the song was stolen from Albanian performer. No comment, really - I don't like politics. And then news from Serbia saying that Marija won as compensation for Kosovo - how nice, others say that she is lesbian - how fantastic!

Just out of curiosity, I really want to know - how many people thought that Sinatra sold so many records because he was with mafia and how many thought that Melissa Etheridge shouldn't have won Oscar because she is lesbian?

One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest

I was 14 years old when I saw One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest in cinema. Seeing the daylight after the show I gazed at people on the street wondering: Who was 'normal' and who was 'crazy'? How do I know? Am I crazy? (Desperate inquisitive teenage quest for the answer to: Who am I?).

Today I saw Psychiatry: No Science, No Cures

From May to August

This month EQ calendar says MAY - STRESS
There are many writings on the page but from where I sit I can only see word STRESS.

I DON'T LIKE IT!

I skip May and go to ... August (had to skip June - Judgement, July - Sacrifice, all sound so negative): EXPECTATION

After all, if I was from another planet and there was nobody to explain how calendars worked, going to Expectation instead of Stress would only be natural.

My expectations for the next 3 months: I feel health, wealth, love and happiness, not more, not less, every day, in my dreams, just despite - relaxed.

May you have a relaxed May
